Our Vision
Our vision is a simple one....
the end of mental illness.
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
Our Story
October of 2021 our beloved Montel was scheduled to attend the Amen Clinic, in Atlanta, GA for psychiatry services and receive the Brain SPECT Imaging scan to help assess and assist him with understanding what he was experiencing. Sadly, to say, after we spent a beautiful day at the lake together, that just 4 hours later, the voices in his head led him to end his life.

His late diagnosis of Schizophrenia and months of searching and trying to navigate a BROKEN mental health system for treatment took a tragic toll on Montel's overall health. Montel had only two weeks to go before getting the help that he needed that would've best supported a treatment plan, offer him a road to recovery, and tools to help him reconstruct his life. But most importantly HOPE for a brighter tomorrow.

Mental ill-health took my son from me, and I am determined that, with your support and through the work of our foundation, we can prevent such tragedies from befalling families in similar situations. Nothing will bring my son back, but together we can MAGNIFY HOPE and help prevent losing others.

Please join us in shining the light on brain health, bridging the financial gap, and magnify hope to those battling the pain of mental health disorders.

We are blessed to also have a host of support, advisors and other caring individuals helping us along the way.
Raising Awareness Around Schizophrenia
The causes, signs and symptoms of schizophrenia are widely misunderstood, and worse than that, stigmatized. Our foundation seeks to address that stigma and those misconceptions – living with schizophrenia (whether as a sufferer or supporting someone with the illness) can feel like a full-time occupation, but with the right care and support, it doesn’t have to.
A Wide Variety of Support and Services
In practical terms, our foundation’s support is both varied and wide-ranging: we provide advice on the next steps including referral support to professional care, understanding, encouragement, non-judgmental support, grants and sponsorship opportunities, community care, advocacy, and even (in certain instances), the covering of paid treatment options. In an age where mental health services are increasingly sought after, we don't want schizophrenia support to be left behind. It is our goal to shine the light on brain health disorders, bridge the financial gap, and magnify real hope for brighter tomorrows.

The current Lifeline phone number (1-800-273-8255) will always remain available to people in emotional distress or suicidal crisis, even after 988 is launched nationally.

One of the easiest ways you can support our foundation is through purchasing one of our several products. We offer wristbands, t-shirts, caps, totes and other items, the proceeds of which are all funneled back into growing the foundation, and improving the support we’re able to provide. There’s a mantra we embrace in our foundation: “in a world where you can be anything, be kind” and just one small act of kindness, one purchase from our store, might make all the difference to someone’s life, thanks to the mental health support it can provide.
